Model of Ford’s Hospital

Mr Paul Townsend kindly donated a model he had made of the front entrance of Fords Hospital to the Charity. The model had been used as an education tool for school children of Coventry. Due to the change in the national in curriculum it was no longer needed. The Charity were very please to offer it a new home at Fords Hospital.

The Bond’s pudding Club.

The first Bond’s Pudding Club event was held on Thursday 16th April at Bonds Court. Residents and staff were asked to big along a favourite pudding to share. There was chocolate tart, trifle, bread and butter pudding, cheesecake to name a few. Certificates were given for the best looking, best tasting, best pudding story etc. It was a great success and everyone is just waiting for the next one!IMG_1024IMG_1032

Events

Thursday afternoons have become a lot more interesting at the Almshouses as staff have been organising an array of activities  including celebrating Pancake day, card making, knitting for charity and even more are planned for the coming months.IMG_0789 IMG_0806

Christmas at the Almshouses

The Christmas events have started at the Almshouses with a residents Christmas lunch at The Dunchurch Park Hotel and the children from St Osburgs School singing Christmas songs in the lounge at Bonds Hospital. All the children received a small gift as a thank you. The Salvation Army will be at Bonds Hospital on Thursday 11th December to play traditional carols. The much anticipated party will be on Wednesday 17th.

Fords Hospital

Cllr Hazel Noonan officially opened Fords Hospital on Tuesday 7th October.

Fords Hospital has under gone major refurbishment and now has five modern self contained flats in a lovely Tudor building in the heart of the city centre.

Summer party

Bonds residents, staff and Trustees celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the new wing of  Bonds Hospital with a Strawberry Tea on Wednesday 9th July.  The Deputy Lord Mayor Michael Hammon cut the cake and chatted with the residents before leaving for another event. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by all who attended.

Ladies Day

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACrossroads Care celebrated Ladies Day at Ascot by putting on a barbeque for the residents of Bonds. Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying good food and a little bet on the horses!  Some residents really entered into the spirit of the day by dressing for the occasion!

Domino Run

Monday 26th May.

Fords Hospital was used as the starting point for Coventry Mysteries domino run. Mr Chapman a resident of Fords Hospital had the pleasure of pushing the first domino. The dominos finished in the ruins of the old Cathedral. dom1 037
